"Apologia" is an album of 12 songs recorded up to 2020, starting with the tracks 'Fetish' and 'Untitled' from Mondfish's 2015 'Fetish EP'. Like the previous album, "Obscure Codex", this work was produced solely through data exchange by both the members of Mondfish. The album's primary genre is ambient music, but based on the musical tastes of the band members, the album flexibly incorporates various other musical genres. This results in work with a unique flavour that does not follow any particular musical trend or current fad.

“Mondfish" is a musical unit consisting of guitarist Kaetsu Takahashi (CINEOLA, Lucid And The Flowers, forestpeople, etc.) and ambient musician Yorihisa Taura. They are characterized by their omnivorous musicality, based on ambient and noise music with guitar, but also incorporate genres such as electronica, ethnic music, jazz, krautrock, and shoegaze. In 2015, they released their first album, "Obscure Codex", and a split album ", In Two Seas", with Mario Grönnert. In addition, they have participated in compilation albums, remix work, etc. Mondfish's song 'Slowdiver' was used in the film 'Unusual California' by Sophia A. White.
